Albany Gallery
now thru February 16, 2003

Currently the Albany County Airport Gallery is hosting an exhibit entitled "Show-Off-Directors Select from their Museum Collections". This exhibition is an intriguing collection of pieces from a wide variety of local museums and historic sites. The idea behind the exhibit was for the museum director to select a favorite piece from their collection, not necessarily one that reflects their mission or theme.

Our contribution is the letter that the Marquis de Lafeyette sent to Betsey Reynolds Voorhees along with the embroidered envelope that Betsey made to hold this "treasured momento" and a pair of wool stockings.

There is a wonderful story of the letter and stockings. When the artifact is returned,to the Fort, next season be sure to stop by and ask us about it!

Canajoharie Library
January 1, 2003

Four Coverlets from the Historical Society collection will be on display as part of an exhibit being held at the Canajoharie Library and Art Museum. The exhibit will be showcasing local weavers from the mid 19th century. Since only 12 coverlets will be displayed, ours will form the bulk of the exhibit. Don't miss it!
